The Duchess of Sussex is a style starter, and she isn't one to let even the smallest detail go amiss from her chic footwear choices (like her favourite Aquazzura Deneuve pumps) to her rule-breaking mismatched earrings. But royal watchers may have picked up on Meghan's particularly bare ring finger while she visited Canada House for Commonwealth Day on March 11 with Prince Harry.
There could be a few reasons the pregnant royal left her jaw-dropping engagement ring at home. Given she's due to give birth around the end of April, it's quite likely her ring finger is a bit too swollen to fit the jewel. Or perhaps she didn't want to get maple syrup on it while making some delicious treats with the kids that day! Whatever the reason, it's certain a great deal of thought went into it before she left the partial heirloom at home.
After all, the ring that made its debut on Nov. 27, 2018 has significance beyond Prince Harry and Meghan's fairytale love story. Then, all eyes were on the now-duchess's glittering left hand as the couple appeared hand-in-hand together at Kensington Palace's Sunken Gardens to officially announce their engagement.
Harry lovingly designed the simple and elegant piece. It features a large central diamond, flanked on either side by two smaller jewels set on a gold band. The prince also personally selected the stones. One is from Botswana, where the duo vacationed together, and the other two diamonds are from his late mother Princess Diana's personal collection.
Aside from her missing engagement ring, the Duchess of Sussex dazzled in a green coat and dress by Turkish-Canadian designer Erdem. She paired the ensemble with her black satin Givenchy Clutch and her go-to Deneuve pumps by Aquazurra. Meghan fixed her dark brown hair up in a messy side bun, accessorizing with her Birks opal earrings and a swipe of pink on her lips.
