See how Duchess Meghan’s maternity style compares to Duchess Kate, Princess Diana and more!

Ever since the Duchess of Sussex announced her pregnancy with husband Prince Harry in October 2018, her maternity fashion sense has been off the charts. While Meghan has a style all her own, there's no denying her outfits have had striking similarities with other big-name women, like her late mother-in-law Princess Diana, her sister-in-law Duchess Kate and more.

Duchess Meghan wasn't fortunate enough to meet her husband’s late mom, Princess Diana, but it’s clear they really would’ve been “thick as thieves,” as Harry put it in their first-ever interview as an engaged couple. Aside from their charm and passion for social justice, their sense of style is comparable, too. On Commonwealth Day, Meghan stunned in an evergreen embellish coat and dress co-ord by Erdem – an outfit that looked very similar to Diana’s Bellville Sassoon coat she wore while pregnant with Prince William in 1982.

Victoria Beckham has been a long-time honourary royal, having attended two of the family's weddings in the past. Her husband, David Beckham, is also good friends with Prince William and Prince Harry. Now that Meghan has been looking to Victoria’s designs for much of her fashion inspiration, it’s no surprise the two hold similar views when it comes to clothes. For a somber visit to New Zealand House to honour the lives lost in the Christchurch mosque shootings, Meghan wore a black loose-fitting bespoke coat by Gucci. The fashion designer and mom-to-four wore a similar-fitting black dress (her own design, the wool and silk-blend trapeze dress) to the wedding of Prince William and Kate back in 2011 while pregnant with her daughter, Harper.

Black, white and royal all over! For her International Women's Day panel, Duchess Meghan wore the perfect black-and-white outfit (a REISS and Alexander McQueen blazer). It’s a look that brought to mind one of Duchess Kate’s more playful ensembles – a Topshop polka-dot dress and a black blazer. At the time, Kate was pregnant with little Prince George.

Duchess Meghan and Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden never shy away from a bit of glitter – and one of the dresses they wore while pregnant bore striking similarities! Prince Harry’s wife opted for the Roland Mouret 'Sarandon' gown, while Victoria (pregnant with Princess Estelle!) dazzled in a Pär Engsheden gown for the 2011 Nobel Peace Prize ceremony.

The Duchesses of Sussex and Cambridge have very different styles, but they sometimes surprise us with similar outfits. For her last evening in Morocco with Prince Harry, Meghan dazzled in blue floral Carolina Herrera – a gown that perhaps took inspiration from Duchess Kate’s blue velvet Erdem number she wore in Stockholm while carrying Prince Louis.

Royal watchers across the globe were stunned when the Duchess of Sussex made a surprise appearance at the 2018 Fashion Awards. But more stunned than the rest of the world was her gown’s designer, Clare Waight Keller, who had no idea Meghan would be there... much less that she’d be wearing a number she personally designed for her! The velvet, one-shoulder creation called to mind a knee-length dress Crown Princess Mary wore while pregnant with her adorable twins, Princess Josephine and Prince Vincent, in 2010.

During a visit to one of her royal patronages, The National Portrait Gallery, the Duchess of Cambridge (pregnant with Prince Louis) dazzled in a floral dress by Irish designer Orla Kiely. Almost exactly a year later, Duchess Meghan wore a similarly patterned dress by Oscar de la Renta for a trip to Bristol.

These royal ladies were radiant in red during their pregnancies! All eyes were on the Duchess of Sussex when she arrived in the Tonga looking every inch a style star in her bold Self-Portrait dress. The number looked strikingly similar to the dresses Crown Princess Victoria and Duchess Kate wore, while pregnant with Prince Oscar and Princess Charlotte, respectively. Clearly, red is their colour!
