Royal Ascot 2019: All the best photos

The annual Royal Ascot is easily the most prestigious (and fanciest!) of royal sporting events in Britain.
Set at the Ascot Racecourse for thoroughbred horses, the British Royal Family descends on Berkshire, England every summer to take in the festivities – and put their fashions senses on display, too.
This year, the festivities two special guests: the Netherlands' Queen Máxima and King Willem-Alexander!

DAY FIVE
The Queen returned for the fifth and final day of Royal Ascot on June 22 and looked happy in a crisp light green jacket, dress and matching hat with floral accents.

Autumn Phillips returned for her second day of Royal Ascot wearing a beautiful and chic baby blue jumpsuit with a matching hat. She was accompanied by husband Peter Phillips, the Queen's oldest grandchild.

Autumn also met up with friends (L-R) Anna-Louise Felstead (left), Sarah Boe (second right) and Jessica Parker (right ) at the races, and posed for selfies with them.

DAY FOUR
Pleased in pink! The Queen stepped out for the fourth day in a row at Royal Ascot on Friday, looking very happy to be out in the sun. She chose a pink coat with a matching hat for the occasion, which she paired with a floral print dress, black handbag and black flats. She also busted out the Jardine star brooch, which is full of diamonds, for another racing day!

DAY THREE
Her Majesty looked pleased as punch to be back at the Royal Ascot for the third day in a row! She arrived with Prince Andrew and Princess Anne in her carriage, and was all smiles as she continued to take in her favourite event of the year.

Zara Tindall was back on Day 3, too, and arrived with Canada's Autumn Phillips and Autumn's husband and Zara's brother, Peter.
Zara looked gorgeous in a teal dress with ruffles and a very elegant matching hat. Autumn also went for a floral theme, wearing a white dress with pink floral patterns and a white hat with red and white floral detailing.

Wow, what a stunning, fashion-forward look! Sophie, Countess of Wessex attended her third day of Royal Ascot in a chic blue jumpsuit that Princess Diana would have loved! She paired it with a matching hat and clutch and looked incredible!

Princess Eugenie was also back at Ascot for Day 3, and helped present jockey Frankie Dettori (right) and trainer Michael Stoute (second left) with the trophy for winning the Hampton Court Stakes. Eugenie chose a dark green drses and matching hat with gold accents for her second day at the races this year.

DAY TWO
Her Majesty returns! The Queen was back at the Royal Ascot for the second day of the festivities on June 19, wearing yet another glorious hat with floral detailing, and she was also wearing Queen Victoria's Wedding Brooch! The gorgeous brooch features a huge sapphire surrounded by 12 diamonds. It dates back to the 1840s, and was given to Victoria by her husband, Prince Albert.

Her Majesty was all smiles as she arrived by carriage with Duchess Camilla, Prince Charles and Alan Brooke, 3rd Viscount Brookeborough.

Prince Edward and Sophie, Countess of Wessex were also out for another day of racing. Edward looked dashing in a stylish black suit with a gold vest and blue tie, while sophie chose a black-and-white hat to match her white dress.

Camilla and Charles shared a laugh with jockey Frankie Dettori while they presented him with a prize after his horse, Crystal Ocean, won the Prince of Wales's Stakes on the second day of the Royal Ascot.

DAY ONE
Maximum Máxima! The Queen of the Netherlands arrived with the Queen at Royal Ascot and wore the most stunning hat! Her outfit was a neutral colour, but she sure made a statement with her headpiece!
The Danish queen is in the UK with her husband, King Willem-Alexander, who was made a Supernumerary Knight of the Garter at Monday’s (June 17) Order of the Garter ceremony at Windsor Castle. Máxima was joined by Spain’s Queen Letizia, whose husband, King Felipe VI was also made a Supernumerary Knight of the Garter.

Her Majesty's look was far more subdued by comparison. The monarch chose a sky blue dress and hat with floral detailing and looked every bit her classy self.

Duchess Kate returned to Royal Ascot this year wearing a gorgeous blue Elie Saab dress. She paired it with a matching hat that had a blue rose detail. Prince William looked dapper as ever in a fresh suit complete with a top hat, and carried an umbrella.
We didn't see Kate a Royal Ascot last year, since she was on maternity leave after giving birth to Prince Louis. So her return this year is a very welcome one!

It's a good thing William brought his umbrella because it started to rain! That didn't seem to put a damper on Kate's mood, though.

The York sisters arrived together, as is tradition! Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice accompanied Princess Alexandra and The Right Honourable Edward Young in their carriage. Eugenie wore a blue dress with a yellow splash on it, and paired it with a yellow hat. Her elder sister opted for a Maje pastel blue lace dress and a Bundle MacLaren hat.

Kate and Zara Tindall are the best of friends, so it's no wonder the two greeted each other with kisses on the cheeks!
