Duchess Kate looked full of festive cheer while filming the A Berry Royal Christmas TV special with Mary Berry and Prince William. For the occasion, the Duchess of Cambridge accessorized with a pretty pair of pearl earrings borrowed from the Queen!
The television program airs on Dec. 16 in the UK. (There have yet to be any Canadian air dates announced.) It features the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Mary showing their appreciation for tireless employees working in charities over the festive period. The trio give their thanks by preparing a meal with the assistance of former Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain.
Kate looks as chic and jolly as ever in a polka dot red dress by Alessandra Rich. The delicate pattern on the style is complemented by Her Majesty’s elegant Silver Jubilee pearl earrings.
According to the Daily Mail, the Queen first wore the earrings for her Silver Jubilee in 1977, which marked the 25th anniversary of her accession to the throne of the United Kingdom and Commonwealth realms.
Royal fans have seen Kate in the pearl earrings on a few different occasions, including her first solo royal engagement to the Netherlands in 2016 and during the Cambridges’s tour of Canada in the same year.
The duchess even wore them when she and William introduced Prince Louis to the world in April 2018 outside the Lindo Wing at St. Mary’s Hospital in London!
Kate also recently borrowed from the Queen's personal jewellery collection for the Dec. 3 NATO leaders’ reception. She chose an elegant pair of Her Majesty’s teardrop earrings, which she paired with an emerald green Emilia Wickstead dress.
At the Diplomatic Corps reception at Buckingham Palace on Dec. 11, Kate wowed in the jaw-dropping Nizam of Hyderabad necklace, which is also from Her Majesty’s personal collection. She accessorized with a new diamond ring, glittering earrings and the Cambridge Lover’s Knot tiara.
