Royal and celebrity-inspired wedding guest looks sure to land you a spot on the best-dressed list

They always dazzle at movie premieres and awards shows. But our favourite stars also bring their fashion A-game when they attend the weddings of friends and family.

From style-savvy Amal Clooney to the effortlessly fashionable Duchess Kate, A-list guests can be counted on to put the spotlight on runway looks, up-and-coming designers and colour trends – and might even kick off a trend or two of their own. (And when the nuptials are those of celebrity or royal pals, keep an eye out for the glamour!)

Admittedly, finding a dress to wear to any formal occasion can cause serious sartorial stress – especially when you're navigating the do's and don'ts of a dress code.

Luckily, we've got just cheat sheet! Our HELLO! Weddings special issue recreates six star-approved looks that are sure to secure you a spot on the best-dressed list.

We take a look back at the 2018 wedding of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan to see how Amal stole the show with her use of vibrant colour. Never one to shy away from colour, the human-rights lawyer - on the arm of her husband, movie star George Clooney - wore a bold yellow midi dress with a pleated square neckline and oversized ties at the back. To complement the look, she chose gold Gianvito Rossi pumps, a gilded box clutch and a Stephen Jones fascinator that glittered with sequin netting.

We also revisit Beyoncé's stunning use of white at the 2014 nuptials of her sister, Solange Knowles.

It's also possible to look perfect in prints, and we'll take you back to Sienna Miller, Laura Dern and Reese Witherspoon's uses of florals, paisley and ruffles made them effortlessly cool.

And of course, no best-dressed list would be complete without a royal, so we show you how you can look like a future Queen by rocking monochrome just like Duchess Kate did at her sister Pippa Middleton's 2017 wedding.
