Robert Downey Jr. is clearly excited to become a father for the third time.
The charming actor and his wife of nine years, Susan Downey, made a loved-up red-carpet appearance for the premiere of of Robert's new film, The Judge, in Toronto on Thursday night (Sept. 4).
The actor, 49, could hardly keep his hands off the mother to be, who showed off her baby bump in a stylish black dress that featured jewel embellishments on the cuffs and collar.
Cameras flashed as the dynamic duo stopped dramatically on the red carpet to kiss while fans chanted, "Robert, Robert, Robert!" in unison.
And it was clear that the Iron Man star, who was dapper in a black suit and violet-hued glasses, was in good spirits, as he joked with journalists and beamed proudly at his wife, whom the reformed rebel credits for helping him kick his drug and alcohol habits of the past.
Susan, a 40-year-old American film producer, is expecting the couple’s first daughter in November. The pair already have a two-year-old son together, Exton Elias Downey, while Robert has an older son, 20-year-old Indio Falconer Downey, from a previous marriage with Deborah Falconer.
The Judge follows big-city lawyer Hank, who returns home after his mother’s death to reconnect with his estranged father, the town judge. The story takes a turn when the judge is suspected of murder and Hank sets out to discover the truth.
After the film’s screening, husband and wife headed to Ivan Reitman’s restaurant, Montecito, for the movie’s official after-party.
Also premiering on opening night of the Toronto International Film Festival was A l Pacino’s The Humbling, in which the screen legend plays an over-the-hill actor.
Al, 74, was seen at the Storys-hosted after-party with his 35-year-old girlfriend, Lucila Sola, but the pair didn’t linger long.
After his security detail nixed walking to Momofuku for dinner, the couple piled into an SUV and headed to Blowfish restaurant on King Street for a late-night bite.
