Ryan Reynolds talks daughter James and luck at TIFF (video)

The resounding screams and applause that erupted outside of Roy Thomson Hall on Wednesday night (Sept. 16) could mean only one thing – Ryan Reynolds had made his debut at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF). Dressed in a dapper navy suit and skinny tie, the 38-year-old actor signed autographs, posed for selfies and met with reporters to talk about the compelling gambling drama Mississippi Grind, nine-month old James, his daughter with wife Blake Lively, and the luckiest moment of his life (watch the video below to see what it is!)

After more than two-decades in Hollywood, the Vancouver native has racked up a lengthy list of hit movies, including romantic comedies The Proposal and Definitely, Maybe, but the actor revealed that he doesn’t expect his daughter to rush to watch any of them when she’s older. “I know a lot of actors that have kids that are older and they never seem to care,” he told Toronto's Kiss 92.5. “I just assume it’s going to be the same. They have enough of their parents, they’re not going to want to sit down for a movie and watch them for two hours!

Ryan, who stars in the upcoming action flick Deadpool, also addressed his wife’s desire to have him share spousal duties with Taylor Swift. The Gossip Girl actress recently posted on Instagram that she has a “Taylor Swift Please Be My Wife” voodoo doll and joked that her new name is Blake Swift-Lively. But Ryan admits he’s all for the arrangement, telling reporters, “This is a real modern romance we’re talking about here. There’s three of us now.”
