Sean Penn will direct lover Charlize Theron in new film ‘The Last Face’

Sean Penn has a history of working with the ladies he’s dating or married to, from first wife and pop diva Madonna in 1986’s At Close Range to second wife Robin Wright in 1998’s Hurlyburly.

Now, Sean has pulled a hat trick and cast his current beau, Charlize Theron , in his upcoming film, The Last Face, keeping with one of the oldest Hollywood trends.

The Monster star and Oscar-winning actress will co-star with Javier Bardem and Blue is the Warmest Colour’s Adele Exarchopoulos. The story is set in Africa and revolves around Charlize’s character, a humanitarian relief worker who becomes embroiled in violent political conflict. Adele is set to portray a travelling journalist, while Javier is slated to play Charlize’s love interest.

The romance-drama is in pre-production but won’t go forward until it is green-lit by River Road and Bill Pohlad, reports Deadline.

The two A-list stars have reportedly been in a relationship since February and are planning to move in together. Now, it seems the couple will have a work and play sort of relationship.
