Tim Warmels better start practicing the phrase, “will you accept this rose?”
As Hello! Canada reveals in its newest issue – which hits newsstands today – the Toronto-based entrepreneur is Canada’s newest bachelor.
Tim, 28, who started filming The Bachelor Canada this month, can’t tell us much about the new season (which airs on City this fall), but the self-described “cheesy romantic” knows one thing for certain: he can definitely see himself proposing at the end. “Absolutely! This is one of the craziest chances to take something and really just go nuts with it,” he tells us.
So what’s his dream type?
The former investment banker – who now runs a tech venture and contracting firm and also models on the side – insists he doesn't have one. “I’m always surprised at what I’m attracted to in women. I’m not a ‘blond or brunette’ guy. I don’t have any types!”

What he does know, however, is that he wants someone he can raise a family with. Tim has many cherished memories of growing up in the small town of Campbellville, Ont., “working on ranches or bailing hay for the farmers down the road. In early childhood it was playing in the ponds and the streams near our houses and then playing hockey,” he says.
Now the game is love and it’s his heart at stake. But Tim says he’ll take it day by day. “I think it’s going to be an emotional roller-coaster. I think the emotions are going to be the ones you really want to feel in a very full fashion. I know that opens me up to falling flat on my face, but I think those are the emotions that make life worth living.”
