Funny man Martin Short knows a good thing when he sees it.
The Canadian comedy legend was joking around with his Legends of Oz: Dorothy’s Return costar, Lea Michele, at the film’s premiere this week, when he made a rather bold statement about the Glee star's performance.
"You're way better than that hack Judy Garland," Martin said. (Judy, of course, famously portrayed Dorothy in the original Wizard of Oz in 1939.)
Lea, 27, who voices Dorothy in the animated flick, quipped back: "I'm pretty sure that a house is going to fall on you later for saying that.”
In the sequel, Martin, 64, plays a new villain named Jester, who is the Wicked Witch of the West's younger brother. The film sees Dorothy returning to Kansas to reunite with the whole gang, including the Scarecrow, the Lion, the Tin Man and the Good Witch of the North, Glinda. It its theatres on May 9.
