Helen Mirren twerks hard to promote 'The Hundred-Foot Journey'

After appearing in more than 100 films and celebrating her 69th birthday last month, Dame Helen Mirren continues to charm and endear fans.

Ever the good sport, the actress accepted a twerking challenge during a taping of Live! With Regis and Kelly this week after she was dared to shake her tushie alongside self-proclaimed expert Michael Stahan.

The British star gave Michael a wiggle for his money, showing off her impressive moves while the audience cheered wildly.

If anyone can make twerking look dignified it’s Helen, who was poised and radiant as ever at The Hundred-Foot Journey premiere on Aug. 4.

The actress turned heads on the red carpet in a navy-blue, 1950s-inspired dress with a lace overlay, which she paired with a stylish cream cardigan and black patent pumps.

In the film, Helen plays a Michelin-starred chef in France who goes head-to-head with an Indian family that opens a restaurant across the street.

The screen legend admits she sometimes felt out of her element in the foodie flick, which was produced by Oprah Winfrey and Steven Spielberg.

“My husband [director Taylor Hackford] is much more [capable in the kitchen] than I am,” she exclusively tells Hello! Canada.

“We’ve had a long and happy relationship, and food has been a very important part of that."
