The 71st Annual Venice International Film Festival kicks off this week, and with an impressive 54 world premieres, some of Hollywood's biggest stars are expected to ferry in.
To get to the festival, stars sometimes elect to take a water taxi, but these are no floating barges. Each of these festival taxis is sleek with a finished wooden frame, keeping in line with their chic passengers.

In 2013, prior to the premiere of Gravity, George Clooney was apparently so enamoured with his water taxi that he decided to take the wheel and go for a spin. He was reported to the police soon after for not having proper boating documentation, but any allegations were waived by local authorities.
Anticipated star power for this year’s festival includes Michael Keaton, whose film, Birdman, premieres early in the festival and is a contender for the prized Gold Lion. Out-of-competition films include James Franco’s directorial effort, The Sound and The Fury, starring himself and Seth Rogen; She’s Funny That Way, starring Owen Wilson, Imogen Poots and Jennifer Aniston; and The Humbling, starring Greta Gerwig.
Will they enjoy the cool breeze in their premiere-primped hair? Only time will tell!
The Venice Film Festival runs from Aug. 27 to Sept. 6, 2014.
