Emma Stone is overcome with emotion after impressive Broadway debut in ‘Cabaret’

Emma Stone is earning rave reviews for her Broadway debut in Cabaret this week. After a stirring performance that more than lived up to expectations, the 26-year-old actress became teary eyed when the audience gave her a standing ovation at curtain call.

“Stone gives a bravura performance of the title song, at once defiant, pathetic and heroic,” raved the Guardian about the flame-haired beauty’s musical numbers.

Replacing Michelle Williams in the play’s title role, Emma plays Sally Bowles, an American dancer who works at the Kit Kat club. The role was made famous by Liza Minnelli in the 1972 film, who took home the Oscar that year.

The New York City-based musical is scheduled to run until Feb. 15. Life is certainly a cabaret for Emma at the moment. The gorgeous star, who is in long-term relationship with actor Andrew Garfield, celebrated her 26th birthday just one week ago.
