As he accepted his Cecil B. DeMille Award for lifetime achievement, there was only one person that George Clooney had on his mind – his new wife, Amal Clooney. The handsome actor spoke about finding love with his beautiful bride as he accepted the prestigious honour at the Golden Globes on Sunday, wearing the same tuxedo he had worn on their wedding day.

“It’s a humbling thing when you find someone to love, even better if you’ve been waiting your whole life,” George said, as he accepted his award. “ Amal, whatever alchemy it is that brought us together, I couldn’t be more proud to be your husband.”
It wasn’t the only part of his speech to hit home. George dedicated the final portion of his address to the unity marches in Paris, and the rest of the world, in the wake of the Charlie Hebdo shooting.
“And just one last thing I would say is just to reiterate what we have all been talking about, today was an extraordinary day. There were millions of people that marched not just in Paris but around the world,” he said. “And they were Christians and Jews and Muslims.
“There were leaders of countries of all over the world and they didn’t march in protest. They marched in support of the idea that we will not walk in fear. We won’t do it. Je suis Charlie. Thank you.”
The Clooneys had shown their support for the victims of the recent terrorist attacks in Paris earlier in the evening as they arrived for the ceremony. Human rights lawyer Amal, stunning in a black Dior gown and white gloves, carried a white Dior clutch bag accessorized with a ‘Je suis Charlie’ badge as she walked the red carpet with her husband, also wearing a badge.
Amal told journalists that her Dior outfit had been “customized in solidarity with the French people, who’ve gone through a terrible week”.
