Watch the 2015 Oscars nominations live-stream

Which actors and films will be nominated for an Oscar this year? Grab a cup of coffee (or two!) and find out here first by watching the official live-stream of the 87th Academy Award nominations, starting at 8:30 am ET on Thursday, Jan. 15.

We’ll be live-streaming all the nominations on Hello! Canada (below) so you won’t miss any of the action.

Star Trek actor Chris Pine, Star Trek director J.J. Abrams, Gravity filmmaker Alfonso Cuarón and Academy president Cheryl Boone Isaacs will announce the nominees in a total of 24 categories, with the conference being split in two parts.

All will be revealed soon enough, but if the Golden Globes are any indication, there are several standout films that are expected to garner a few nods this year.

Last year, 12 Years a Slave took home top honours at both the Golden Globes and the Oscars – could the same happen in 2015?

Golden Globes 2015: All the winners and memorable moments

Selma and The Grand Budapest Hotel – which won Best Drama and Best Comedy at the Globes, respectively – may vie for Best Picture (there’s only one top category at the Academy Awards), while Eddie Redmayne is a strong contender for Best Actor after winning the Golden Globe for The Theory of Everything on Sunday.

For the coveted honour of Best Actress, there’s been plenty buzz over Jennifer Aniston’s breakout role in Cake – though it was Amy Adams (Big Eyes) and Julianne Moore (Still Alice) who won in their respective Comedy and Drama categories at the Globes.

The Oscars will be held on Sunday, Feb. 22 and will be hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.
