Could Chris Pratt be the next Indiana Jones? According to new reports, Disney sights are set on casting the 35-year-old actor in a reboot of the adventure-film franchise made famous by Harrison Ford in the 1980s.
The Parks & Recreation star has been on a Hollywood hot streak lately, having seamlessly transitioned from TV comedy actor to bona fide movie star in a matter of months. It all began last year, when Chris was cast as the brash space adventurer Peter Quill in Disney’s Guardians of the Galaxy to both great critical acclaim and box office success. The film went on to become the highest-grossing superhero film of 2014 and the second-highest grossing film in North America.
Chris next voiced lead character Emmet Brickowski in The Lego Movie, which took the third spot for highest-grossing films in North America last year.
As if all that weren’t enough, Anna Farris’ handsome husband – who was ranked number two on People’s Sexiest Man Alive list in 2014 – next stars in Stephen Spielberg’s Jurassic Park reboot, Jurassic World, which hits theaters in June.
Actor Josh Gad – whose Twitter profile reads, “the chubby man’s Indiana Jones” - wrote, “ I mean HELL YES!!! @prattprattpratt is perfect!” while Modern Family star Sarah Hyland echoed his enthusiasm with a retweet.

One particularly avid fan even photoshopped Chris’ likeness onto an image of Indiana in his full costume – and the result was quite remarkable!
Although Disney bought the distribution rights for the Indiana Jones films from Paramount in 2013, it has yet to confirm that a remake is in the works.
