Robert Downey Jr. teases big ‘Avengers 2’ news on Twitter
Calling all Avengers’ fans: It looks like a big announcement about the second installment of the film is on its way!
Robert Downey Jr., a.k.a. Iron Man himself, revealed the news on Twitter this week. His message was short and sweet: “You've been good so here's a new #IronMan poster from @Avengers. & on the DL, big announcement in 8 days… #getexcited.” For those counting, that sets the big news day at March 8.

The first movie in the Marvel series is one of the highest-grossing films of all time, raking in astonishing $1.5 billion since its release in 2012. The only pictures that are more popular than Avengers are Avatar and Titanic (both movies by Canadian director James Cameron).
Not much is known about the Avengers: Age of Ultron flick, though Joss Whedon has been confirmed as the writer and director. Some character details have been rolling out online and on social media, too, with Mark Ruffalo tweeting a poster of his character, the Hulk - which means he’s officially returning to the series.
