It’s been an exciting (and exhausting!) six months for Martine Forget, fiancée to Toronto Maple Leafs goalie Jonathan Bernier . The new mom and model, who gave birth to the couple’s first child, son Tyler, in August, has been filming the highly anticipated new W network series, Hockey Wives, a Canadian reality show that follows the women behind hockey’s biggest players.
Sitting down for an exclusive interview with Hello! Canada, the beautiful blond bombshell spoke candidly about what it’s like to be a “hockey wife” (she and Jonathan are engaged, but have had no time to plan a wedding or set a date yet), as well as the challenges of being a new mom who is “married to the game.”

Premiering Wednesday, March 18, the eight-part docu-series follows the glamorous lives of the NHL’s wives and girlfriends, giving fans a never-before-seen look into the emotional toll of high-stakes hockey and how it affects players' significant others and their relationships.
Of course, there are perks to being a hockey wife, too.
"It’s a different world. It’s not like working Monday to Friday in front of a computer,” says Martine, who has been modelling since age 17. “It’s a job that I can be part of, watching him on the ice.
