Ryan Gosling is one of Hollywood's most beloved stars and it’s easy to see why: He’s handsome, he’s charming and, above all, he’s a sucker for love. During a Q&A for the Canadian actor’s directorial debut, Lost River, at South by Southwest (SXSW) over the weekend, the 34-year-old heartthrob helped facilitate a marriage proposal – and the entire heartwarming moment was caught on camera.
Toward the end of the session, one woman in the audience did not ask a question, but instead made a spontaneous proposal to her girlfriend of 11 years, eliciting gasps from the crowd.
Ryan, who can be seen raising his eyebrows in surprise and grinning delightedly over the unexpected turn of events, bent down from the stage to offer his microphone to the woman so she could share her love publicly.
"We've been together 11 years and have had many ups and downs," the love-struck speaker says, presenting a ring to her new fiancée, who can be seen wiping back tears.
“She finally moved here to be with me just a few months ago after two years of being apart. I want to spend the rest of my life with you, will you marry me?" (Spoiler: She said yes!)

Once the applause died down, Ryan, who had been clapping excitedly, quipped, “Well, let’s go out on that note, shall we?”
The actor was clearly moved by the romantic gesture, as he's also very much in love, having welcomed daughter Esmeralda with his girlfriend of more than three years, actress Eva Mendes, in September. (Eva, who stars in Lost River, joined Ryan onstage for the event.)
"I have lots of complicated, amazing women in my life, and that's increasing," he said with a laugh.
Lost River hits threaters on April 10.
