Toronto’s celebrity watchers can look forward to an especially star-studded spring and summer, as a slew of Hollywood A-listers – including Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Cara Delevingne, Viola Davis, Joel Kinnamin and Jai Courtney – arrive to film the highly anticipate comic-book film, Suicide Squad.
Jared Leto, who plays the iconic villain The Joker, touched down at Toronto’s Pearson International Airport on Sunday (April 5), attempting to go incognito in a multi-layered, wintery ensemble.
The 43-year-old actor looked comfortable and relaxed in an oversized black-and-gold hoodie, a puffy winter parka and a pair of electric-blue basketball shorts worn over black athletic pants (which he tucked into Sorel winter boots). He accessorized with aviator sunglasses and covered his newly dyed platinum-blond locks with his hood.
“ Hey Toronto. I missed you. X,” the actor tweeted, inspiring a frenzy of retweets and excited replies from city dwellers.

Meanwhile, British model Cara Delevinge, who plays Enchantress, got a head start on Jared, having arrived several days earlier to enjoy a hockey game on April 5. Watching the Toronto Maple Leafs play the Ottawa Senators on Easter Sunday, the down-to-earth star grabbed a slice of pizza and a cold beer for the game, where she sat in the nosebleeds section with a few pals – just like a true Canuck!
Of course, it’s not Cara’s first time visiting the Great White North. The 22-year-old beauty crashed the Elle Canada Toronto Fashion Week party on March 25, bringing actor friend Scott Eastwood – son of Clint Eastwood – along for the fête.
Wolf of Wall Street star Margot, who plays Harley Quinn in the film, has also been busy exploring "The Six" ahead of filming. The 24-year-old blond beauty posted a photo to Instagram this week, in which she can be seen beaming brightly as she strolls past an outdoor graffiti mural, possibly in the West Queen West area (a.k.a. the world's second-hippest neighbourhood, according to Vogue.) It looks as though Margot has already mastered her downtown-hipster attire, sporting black tights, a denim jacket, a small black backpack and white Converse sneakers in the snap.
No doubt Will and Viola aren't far behind, especially now that spring has sprung in the Ontario capital. Speaking exclusively to Hello! Canada at the Insurgent premiere in Toronto last month, Australian heartthrob Jai – who plays assassin Deadshot in the film – said he couldn't be more excited to start shooting in the Canadian city, but that he was especially looking forward to “the weather warming up.”
