Amal Clooney and husband George Clooney are quickly becoming the king and queen of New York City. Since relocating to the Big Apple last month, the photogenic pair – who were married in Venice last September – have been frequenting Manhattan’s hotspots, with Amal turning heads in an array of fashion-forward ensembles.
The beautiful barrister's style parade continued in full force this week, as Amal paid a visit to her husband on the set of his new film, Money Monster. Swapping her mini dresses and high heels for a low-key, daytime outfit, the human-rights lawyer was biker-chic in a pair of ripped boyfriend jeans paired with a white eyelet t-shirt and a leather Balenciaga jacket. She finished the look with trendy wedge sneakers, a fringed bag and oversized sunglasses.
Amal also brought the couple’s two beloved cocker spaniels to set. The darker dog, Einstein, is a rescue pooch that George adopted in 2010, while the lighter-coloured pup was a gift made to George from his wife shortly after their glamorous Italian nuptials.
Both George, 53, and Amal, 37, have a lot on their collective plate as they continue to settle into their new life in NYC. While the actor films the new Jodie Foster-directed flick (which also stars Julia Roberts), Amal has jumped into a visiting faculty position at Columbia University as well as a senior fellowship with the law school's Human Rights Institute.
“It is an honour to be invited as a visiting professor at Columbia Law School alongside such a distinguished faculty and talented student pool,” Amal said in an official statement. “I look forward to getting to know the next generation of human rights advocates studying here.”
Despite their busy schedules, the newlyweds always make sure to find time for one another, enjoying frequent date nights as they get to know the Big Apple's vibrant restaurant scene.
George recently spoke lovingly about his wife of five months – who he described as “the smart one.”
“I’m very happy. It’s exciting,” he said of married life, as he stepped out solo for the SeriousFun Children’s Network’s New York Gala last month. “I really love my wife, I’m having a great time and I’m very proud of her. I couldn’t be more proud of the things she does.”
