Amal Clooney took a very special date to the premiere of George Clooney’s new movie, Tomorrowland: her lookalike niece, Mia Alamuddin. The 13-year-old, who is the daughter of Amal’s sister, Tala Alamuddin, got a taste of Hollywood with the A-list couple at the Anaheim premiere.
Mia, who acted as a flower girl during the couple’s lavish Italian wedding in September, chose a pretty white-and-yellow dress for her moment in the spotlight. She looked understandably excited as she stood next to George and Amal, who had one arm wrapped protectively around her niece as the trio smiled for the cameras.
Amal looked stunning and stylish in a striking black and coral mini dress that showed off her endless legs. Besotted George, dressed all in black, affectionately kissed her hand as they arrived on the red carpet for the screening, which took place in Anaheim, California on Saturday.
The handsome movie star is quite clearly head-over-heels in love with his wife of eight months – and recently revealed it didn’t take him long to realise Amal was The One.
“I think about three days in, I knew,” he told Access Hollywood‘s Liz Hernandez. “I mean, I knew when I met her that she was so extraordinary and special. And then I wondered if I’d ever get a chance to date her. Then we became friends for a while before, and then luckily she said ‘yes’.”
George, who recently celebrated his 54th birthday, also admitted that he initially found Amal “intimidating”.
“It’s always intimidating,” he said. “She’s an incredibly warm, wonderful person so it’s always intimidating. I think everyone gets intimidated.”
The star might have initially been nervous around his wife – but Amal hasn’t had the same problem fitting in with George’s A-list lifestyle. “She doesn’t (get nervous) actually,” George said. "Because when she works, people’s lives are on the line. So I think that ‘play land’ doesn’t intimidate her.”
