After a decade of trying to adapt author Bill Bryson’s bestselling book, A Walk in the Woods, into a motion picture, Oscar-winning actor Robert Redford has finally achieved his goal. Robert stars alongside Nick Nolte in the biopic (in theatres Sept. 2), based on the travel writer’s attempt to walk the Appalachian Trail. The seemingly idyllic 3200-km adventure becomes anything but when Bill’s irresponsible old friend (played by Nick) tags along. Rounding out the stellar cast are Emma Thompson and Mary Steenburgen.

Frank Martin has a new look in the latest chapter of the Transporter series, with newcomer Ed Skrien taking over the role from Jason Statham. This time around, the former special ops agent goes head to head with a group of bank robbers who target Frank’s father. The film (in theatres Sept. 4) is the fourth installment in the franchise, which made its debut in 2002.

Mad Max: Fury Road: This week, Charlize Theron’s thrilling trip to a post-apocalyptic future arrives on DVD. The action flick, which co-stars Tom Hardy, Riley Keough and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, sees the South Africa-born actress fighting to save a group of female slaves from a deranged warlord.
