Hello’s Fall TV preview: 10 must-see new shows

The arrival of the fall season means cooler temperatures, pumpkin-spiced drinks and an exciting new crop of must-see TV shows. And luckily for small-screen fans, this season’s lineup is jam packed with edge-of-your seat action sequences, laugh-out-loud moments and some familiar faces taking on fresh new roles.

Even though the presence of David Letterman on late night television will be greatly missed, Stephen Colbert is primed and ready to add his signature humour to the post-11-pm menu. The former Colbert Report host has racked up an impressive guest list to help him get comfortable in his new time slot, starting with George Clooney, who will appear in the premiere episode on Sept. 8. Scarlett Johansson, Amy Schumer, Kendrick Lamar and Jake Gyllenhaal will also sit down with Stephen, who admitted recently to the New York Times that it took some time to figure out the feel of the new Late Show. "At first, we said: 'Let's not take anything for granted. Let's be willing to throw out everything from the old show.’ And what we've discovered is, oh, our sense of humour is our sense of humour."

While some primetime favourites, like Lea Michele, will bring new characters to life in a series of shows unlike anything they’ve ever done before, others - like The Grinder’s Rob Lowe and Jane Lynch (Angel from Hell) - deliver the comedic performances audiences have come to love.

To celebrate TV’s fall season, we’ve rounded up ten new must-see shows.
