December wouldn't be the same without a recap from Barbara Walters of the most fascinating people of the year, and the 2015 list is packed with talent. Comedians Amy Schumer and Tracy Morgan, actor Bradley Cooper and designer Donna Karan are among those who join the ranks of notables like Hillary Rodham Clinton, Jay Z and Oprah Winfrey, all of whom have been included on the renowned journalist's list since its debut in 1993.
Although there will surely be a few laughs, Barbara will take a serious look at funny woman Amy's meteoric rise to fame. After gaining attention for her hilarious sketch comedy show Inside Amy Schumer, the 34-year-old star was behind one of the year's most exciting new films: Trainwreck. Tracy, on the other hand, had perhaps his most trying year, as the 30 Rock star spent much of 2015 battling his way back to health following a near-fatal car accident in 2014. He also married his longtime love, Megan Wollover, this past summer.
Oscar-nominee Bradley Cooper also caught the 86-year-old interviewer's eye, likely having starred in several films this year. The 40-year-old added Aloha, Burnt, Joy and Armsand the Dudes to his filmography.
A welcome surprise and addition to this year's compilation were two strong female athletes: American Ballet Theatre principal dancer Misty Copeland and UFC champion Ronda Rousey. Both have gone out of their way over the past 12 months to battle negative stereotypes around the female body, and each has sought to empower women to believe in themselves.
As Rousey said in her book My Fight/Your Fight, "If you can't dream big, ridiculous dreams, what's the point in dreaming at all?”
Other accomplished individuals who made this year's round up include U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders and fashion designer Donna Karan. The final four on the list will be revealed when the ABC News special airs on Dec. 17 at 9:30 p.m.
