Gigi Hadid makes a living on her slender frame, but that doesn't mean the gorgeous model doesn't love her food - and she might just be as good in the kitchen as she is on the runway! On Monday's (Jan. 18) Celebrity Showdown episode of MasterChef, Gigi whipped up a "very special" beef burger to take home top honours.
The 20-year-old model went head-to-head with fellow Victoria's Secret model Devon Windsor, who impressed judges Gordon Ramsay and Christina Tosi with her black ink spaghetti and grilled shrimp dish; However, it was Gigi's encyclopedic knowledge of burgers that led her to victory.
"The first year I lived in New York I tried a different burger every week to find my favourite burger in New York," Gigi explained. "I always say, eat clean to stay fit, have a burger to stay sane."
Gigi created a beef patty with pickled jalapeños and a spiced "crispy onion nest" with potato chips on the side, a dish she was evidently proud of as she told Gordon, "You might need to add it to your menu after tonight."
Gordon said the burger was "delicious" and American chef Christina praised Gigi's cooking skills, saying, "All of your execution, your technique was down to a T."
The blond beauty described herself as the "biggest foodie ever" after she was named the winner of the showdown, and got tearful as she explained why she had chosen to donate the $25,000 prize to charity Global Lyme Alliance for Lyme Disease.
"My mom, sister and brother are all affected by Lyme disease," Gigi said. "Not enough people know what Lyme disease is and the dangers of being bitten by an insect. For that, on its own is amazing, but with $25,000, we can help with finding a cure. It can help so much."
