‘Superman’ Henry Cavill goes unnoticed in New York's Times Square

He might play the powerful Man of Steel onscreen, but Henry Cavill was just another face in the crowd on Wednesday (Mar. 16) when he went unnoticed in New York’s Times Square. Dressed in a Superman t-shirt, the British actor even posed for pictures in front of his film’s enormous billboard without anyone doing a double take.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is expected to break records upon its release on Mar. 25. In the film, Henry and Ben Affleck face off in the ultimate battle of strength, but off screen the two leading men are the best of friends. Henry even admitted to Good Morning America that his co-star inspired him to hit the gym. “When you see Ben on set and everything and he’s in good shape, it makes you want to go back to the gym that morning and work a little harder,” he said.

And while the 32-year-old looked surprised to walk the streets of New York without anyone recognizing him, there are times when he yearns to be inconspicuous. He recently revealed that it "really gets his goat" when people hit on him in front of his girlfriend Tara King. Speaking with the Sunday Times, Henry admits it bothers him when "someone is being complimentary to me in order to disrespect her." The loved-up couple, who were first spotted together in Oct. 2015, made their red carpet debut together at last month's Vanity Fair party following the Oscars.
