Caitriona recently revealed to Hello! Canada the wonderful idea Terry had when it came to designing Claire's season two wardrobe. "Because Claire is a woman from the 1940s she would bring her 1940s eye with her when getting gowns made. She would incorporate lots of details from 1940s clothes into this 18th century wardrobe that she was building."

Terry told New York Magazine that she drew inspiration from Dior, Balmain, and Balenciaga to create what she calls "the movement of a modern woman."
