Fans of the Netflix series Stranger Things were delighted to learn on Wednesday (Aug. 31) that the hit science fiction drama will return for a second season. And while renewal news is the best kind of news for TV viewers, it's a "deleted scene" from the show that has everyone talking. Warning: spoilers ahead!
The Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon somehow got his hands on a never-before-scene from the series, in which one character gets the chance to speak her mind. A lot of commentary surrounding the show's debut season centered on the character of Barb, whose death was overshadowed by the fact that no one seemed to try very hard to save her. Now Barb is back and expressing her anger over being left behind.
The show's talented young stars – Vancouver native Finn Wolfhard, Millie Bobby Brown, Caleb McLaughlin and Gaten Matarazzo – reprise their roles in the hilarious spoof, which also sees Jimmy playing the part of Steve.
A love letter to the cult classics of the 1980s, Stranger Things is a coming of age story set in the context of the disappearance of a young boy in Hawkins, Indiana. His mother, played by Winona Ryder, sets off to unearth the truth amid a web of government experiments, supernatural forces and the creepiest girl you may have ever seen. Season one is currently available on Netflix.
