This winter, Netflix is bringing to life the adventurous world of the Baudelaire's in Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events. The eight-part series, which stars Neil Patrick Harris, Joan Cusack and Canada's Catherine O'Hara, debuts on January 13, 2017, but we have your first look at show's official trailer.
This isn't the first time that Daniel Handler's beloved books have been reimagined on screen. In 2003, Meryl Streep, Jim Carrey and Jude Law starred in the film adaptation A Series of Unfortunate Events.
Like the film, the new series will tell the story of Violet, Klaus and Sunny Baudelaire who are sent to live with a distant relative after their parents pass away in a fire. They soon find themselves the target of Count Olaf, a mysterious and devious figure who is seeking fortune by way of stealing the children's inheritance. Mayhem ensues as the Baudelaires try to evade Count Olaf and discover surprising information about their parents' past along the way.
