With less than a month to go before the hotly-anticipated Twin Peaks revival hits the small screen, fans were treated to another sneak peek at crime drama. A new teaser trailer for the show was released on Friday and it has caused a frenzy on social medial.
The 30-second clip features shots of famous locations from the idiosyncratic town including the Twin Peaks Sheriff's Department, the Double R Diner, Fat Trout trailer park, Laura Palmer’s house and a haunting image of rows of evergreen trees in the mountains surrounded by eerie fog. While not much is known about the reboot, the show’s executive producer and creator David Lynch hopes fans are very happy with the final product. “’Expect’ is a magical word. People expect things and their expectations are met hopefully when they see the thing,” he explained to an audience at the 2017 TCA Winter Press Tour.
The series, which will debut on May 21 (Showtime), will see the return of original cast members like Kyle MacLachlan, Mädchen Amick, Dana Ashbrook and David Duchovny alongside newcomers Amanda Seyfried, Laura Dern and Michael Cera.
Kyle, who plays Special Agent Dale Cooper, couldn’t be more thrilled to be carrying his detective badge again. In a behind the scenes feature for the drama, the actor shared his delight over reuniting with the crew and revisiting old storylines. “Revisiting all this territory, there’s a freshness to it,” said the actor. “There’s nothing I can say to describe it. It’s been absolutely wonderful.”
