Mandy Moore gets emotional about adoption in first look at ‘This Is Us’ season 2

Get out your box of tissues, because this one’s a tear-jerker! ‘This Is Us’ season two just got its first teaser trailer, and it is super emotional. In it, Rebecca Pearson (played by Mandy Moore) opens up to her son Randall (played by Stirling K. Brown) about the heart wrenching process of adopting him.

For those unfamiliar with season one, Mandy and her husband Jack (played by Milo Ventimiglia) are expecting triplets but end up losing one baby during a hard labour. The couple then decides to adopt an abandoned child, Randall, who is being cared for at the hospital. The heart wrenching process to Randall is just one topic explored in season two. Watch the first teaser below!

Emotional storylines are nothing new for the This is Us audience. The show’s freshman season delivered episode after episode of tear-jerking reveals and quotable monologues. The runaway drama has earned more than just a loyal fan base, it’s also up for nine awards at the Primetime Emmys in September.

While the show’s cast is staying tight-lipped when it comes to spoilers, Mandy did reveal that viewers won’t have to wait much longer to find out how her on-screen husband died. “You will learn how Jack died in the first episode of season 2. That’s what we’ve been told,” said the star.
