Ryan’s last turn as host had the audience in fits for more than just LOL skits. The actor struggled to stay in character and even giggled his way through some scenes. He also famously recruited Mike Myers to help him deliver the most Canadian monologue of all time. Mike, dressed in a Toronto Maple Leafs jersey, interrupted his fellow Canuck to remind him of his Canadian heritage. The duo wrapped up the memorable opening with a hilariously stereotypical song about the Great White North.
After supporting his musical La La Land during a whirlwind awards season, the 36-year-old is now gearing up for the release of Blade Runner 2049. The action sequel sees the London, Ont. native step into the titular role made famous by Harrison Ford in the 1980s. Harrsion also stars in the flick.
Ryan’s home life is equally as busy! He and long-time love Eva Mendes are parents of two daughters – Esmeralda, 2 and 15-month-old Amada. It's safe to say that he loves being a family man. The Golden Globe-nominated actor gushed about his "dream family" in the January 2017 issue of GQ, calling Eva a "dream mother" and describing their daughters as "dream babies."
Both Ryan and Eva have worked hard to keep their daughters out of the public eye to protect their privacy and to ensure that they have a normal childhood. Being a good parent is something the actor takes very seriously. Speaking to GQ, the actor said, "When you meet your kids you realize that they deserve great parents. And then you have your marching orders and you have to try and become the person that they deserve.”
