Canada’s favourite home improvement stars Drew and Jonathan Scott are winning big this year! As the Canadian Screen Awards kicked off a week of celebrating homegrown talent, culminating in Sunday’s (Mar. 11) glitzy broadcast show, the beloved twins scooped up a statue at the non-fiction presentation on Tuesday. The Property Brothers stars were honoured with the Best Lifestyle Program or Series.
Their award-winning series first hit the nation’s TV screens back in 2011, before the Scott brothers were well known. Teaming up as the ultimate home renovation duo, Drew took charge of the business side while Jonathan strapped on his tool belt and helped out in construction. Together, the down-to-earth siblings have built their way into the hearts of the nation.
What’s the next best thing to be on Property Brothers? Buying their furniture designs! When the brothers aren’t busy gathering accolades, they find time to work on projects like their brand-new homeware line . Now, their fans can deck out their homes just like they’ve seen on TV.
You’d think these two might get sick of one another, but their brotherly bond is stronger than ever. On the most recent season of Dancing with the Stars, Drew slipped on his dancing shoes and tapped, tangoed and twirled his way to an astonishing third place… All with his family in the crowd, cheering him on. Jonathan even joined him for one of his dances!
Speaking to Hello! last year, the 39-year-old realtor – who is busy planning his upcoming wedding to fiancé Linda Phan - opened up about the incredible experience, sharing some inspirational advice he got from his parents, “Ever since we were kids, [my brothers and I] were told by our parents, ‘Never take no for an answer. If someone says you can’t do something, find five ways to do it,’” he shared. “That’s something we lived our lives by. I haven’t challenged myself this hugely in a long time. Dancing is something I’ve always wanted to do.”
