David Beckham meets Deadpool in the film’s latest trailer and it’s hilarious

When David Beckham and Deadpool meet for the first time, hilarity ensues! The former footballer is the star of Deadpool 2’s latest trailer, in which the superhero, played by Ryan Reynolds, endlessly tries to make up for offending his pal in the funniest of ways.

The video begins with the 43-year-old watching a scene from the first instalment of Deadpool. On screen, Ryan’s character says, “Ever heard David Beckham speak? It’s like he mouth-sexed a can of helium!” Shortly after, David receives a few messages from Ryan, pleading for forgiveness, “Sorry. Forgive me,” they read along with a blowing kisses emoji. Then comes a knock at the door.

And guess who it is? Deadpool, of course, waving a white flag. The movie star offers his friend a glass of milk and a plate of cookies as a way to say sorry, only to have the door shut in his face. Three more times, Deadpool comes knocking, with balloons, a mariachi band and, finally, tickets for a soccer game, which ultimately win the former pro athlete over. “I can’t stay mad at you,” David admits, going in for a hug.

Celine Dion was a natural fit for the Deadpool 2 soundtrack: “She has incredible comedic timing”

But the comedy didn’t stop there. Deadpool holds the hug for a little too long, commenting on how delicious the father of four smells – “like cinnamon and manhood.” Clearly, there was a bit of a misunderstanding – David had no idea what he was apologizing for! Instead of cluing in to the comment on his voice, he listed off some of Ryan’s older films as silly “reasons” for his apology.

It’s all in good fun though, because by the end the duo sits on the couch together. The film has been releasing hilarious trailers for months now to promote the second installment of the Avengers’ Deadpool franchise. The comedic timing of each one points to the overall tone of the film, which Ryan once explained to The Sydney Herald is about “a meta self-aware character who is formed exclusively to annoy the shit out of everyone around him. You have a character that exists in the X-Men universe that knows he’s in a comic book and knows that Hugh Jackman is playing Wolverine.”

Last week, Deadpool showed his softer side alongside an unexpected collaborator – Celine Dion! The Canadian singer joined forces with her fellow Canuck on the film’s powerful theme song, “Ashes,”and the music video had fans freaking out. In it, the 50-year-old backlit on a stage in a stunning blue gown while scenes from the movie play before it culminates with Deadpool joining Celine on stage to perform a sensual interpretive dance.
