‘Schitt’s Creek’ picks up three Emmy Award nominations, while Sandra Oh gets two nods

By Zach Harper

Game of Thrones picked up a record 32 Primetime Emmy Award nominations on July 16, while Canadian stars and shows had a moment of their own: Schitt’s Creek scored its very first Emmy nominations!

The beloved Canadian program is up for three different awards. It’s in the running for Outstanding Comedy Series, while the incomparable Eugene Levy and Catherine O'Hara are nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series, respectively.

Sandra Oh, star of blockbuster cult series Killing Eve, is also nominated... twice! She’s up for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series, as is her co-star Jodie Comer, who plays the murderous Villanelle. Sandra is also nominated for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her stint as Saturday Night Live host this year.

We’ll find out who will pick up prizes at primetime TV’s biggest night on Sept. 22. The host has yet to be announced. You can see the full list of nominees at the Emmys website.
