Angelina Jolie reveals new film project: 'I've felt a deep connection to Africa'

There's no stopping Angelina Jolie. The newlywed, who is currently working on her third directorial effort while awaiting the release of her second, has now announced her fourth film. Africa will tell the true tale of Richard Leakey, a fossil hunter who helped find bones of early man but was later drawn into a violent battle with elephant poachers.

Speaking of the new project, Angelina said: "I've felt a deep connection to Africa and its culture for much of my life, and was taken with Eric [Roth's] beautiful script about a man drawn into the violent conflict with elephant poachers who emerged with a deeper understanding of man’s footprint and a profound sense of responsibility for the world around him."

Producer David Ellison added: "[Angelina] is an incredibly talented filmmaker and is sure to turn Eric Roth's impeccable script into the project I've always wanted Skydance to be involved in. "Oscar winner Angelina is currently filming and directing By The Sea which co-stars her husband Brad Pitt. The pair first met on the set of Mr. and Mrs Smith in 2005, and married nine years later in an intimate ceremony in August, with HELLO! exclusively revealing the gorgeous images.

 By The Sea was written by Angelina and is set in the mid-1970s in France, with Angelina and Brad's married couple travelling the country and yet slowly growing apart. When they decide to settle in a seaside village, it creates a change in their relationship as they begin to form friendships with the locals. Angelina, 39, who made her feature film directorial debut in 2011 with In The Land of Bloody and Honey, and will premiere her second directorial feature, Unbroken, the true story of World War II POW survivor Louis Zamperini, in December.
