And with that, we have a winner! Dancing with the Stars season 30 may have had a rocky and VERY divisive road, but we've finally arrived at the glorious crowning of NBA player Iman Shumpert and professional partner Daniella Karagach as the champions.

The four pairs heading into the grand finale were Iman and Daniella, Peloton instructor Cody Rigsby and Cheryl Burke, The Talk host Amanda Kloots and Alan Bersten, and social media personality JoJo Siwa and Jenna Johnson.

While JoJo and Jenna were the runners-up, Cody and Cheryl took third, and Amanda and Alan ended the night in fourth place.

As much as they'd like to deny it, our only finalists without matching initials were the underdogs heading into the finale, mostly because no one expected Iman to do this well.

Their scores have run the gamut, getting the night's lowest and the night's highest scored routines at several points. But he isn't the first NBA finalist (and now winner) without cause.

Iman and Daniella, from underdog to mirrorball champions

It's with the little gestures and the overall humility and flair he has brought, alongwith Daniella's stellar choreography, that has made the pair a major fan favorite. Plus, both their dances on finale night netted them perfect scores.

Iman and Daniella are satisfying winners for their sheer narrative alone, having served some truly show-stopping moments on the show, and if consistency is the issue, then you might be on the wrong show.

Iman and Daniella were stellar all throughout the finale

Julianne Hough made a special appearance on the panel for tonight's episode as she substituted for her brother Derek, currently quarantining as he recovers from COVID-19. Derek was present virtually, however, looking as spiffy as always.

MORE: Dancing with the Stars fans choose surprising frontrunner ahead of semi-finals

Overall, this season was full of highs and lows. Many of the perceived underdogs were the ones the fans could most identify with, and were the ones who had more fully fleshed out storylines.

As a result, the frontrunners were often not as popular as the more divisive performers, and every elimination was always met with more than a few raised eyebrows than usual.

But at the end of the day, we ended up with a truly deserving winning duo and a strong set of finalists. Sure, my (and surely others') favorites may not have made it, but we can't all be god now, can we?
