Lady Gaga showcases a dramatic new look in honour of David Bowie

The world is still mourning the loss of David Bowie and has been eagerly awaiting a special tribute to the singer at this year's GRAMMY awards. Lady Gaga was recruited to honour the singer and it's a responsibility she has taken very seriously. She even started her tribute to "the late, great David Bowie," before the show started by walking the red carpet wearing a flowing custom blue dress from Marc Jacobs and sporting long orangey-red locks reminiscent of David Bowie's Aladdin Sane period.

Prior to the show on Monday night (Feb. 15), the singer prepared for her highly-anticipated performance by listening to songs from the music legend and she admitted to finding herself a little emotional. Rather than hide her feelings the songstress posted a picture on Instagram, complete with vibrant blue Bowie-esque eye shadow, with tears pouring down her face, which she captioned "The world loves you David."

On Saturday, Lady Gaga also revealed the latest addition to her ever-growing collection of body art – David Bowie's iconic Aladdin Sane album cover featuring the famed artist with closed eyes and a red and blue lightning bolt painted across his face. "This was the image that changed my life," the "Born This Way" singer said of her newest tattoo, adding: "Hail Mary full of grace Saint Bowie."
