Olympic champion Tessa Virtue shares her winter skin tips

Olympic champion ice dancer Tessa Virtue knows a thing or two about surviving long hours in ice-cold temperatures – and having to look good doing it. We ask the Canadian skater how she keeps her skin in winning form both on and off the rink.

How do you protect your face from the extreme conditions during training?
It’s all about moisturizer. The Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is kind of my lifesaver at this point. It’s really light and not greasy. My mom has always used a lot of Olay products, so growing up that was my go-to.

What about your hands, which are also exposed to the cold?
I can’t use a ton of product before I skate or else my skating partner, Scott Moir, fi nds that he’s kind of slipping and we can’t grip each other’s hands. Before I go to bed is the perfect time to moisturize so I wake up feeling rejuvenated and nice and smooth before heading to the rink.

How do you unwind after a long practice?
I love baths. It’s a good way for me to destress. I light a candle and just relax and warm up.
