Lorde teams up with MAC for makeup collection

Famous for her gothic, vampy look, singer Lorde has teamed up with MAC cosmetics for a limited-edition makeup collection.

Due out this summer, the beauty line is expected to embody the 17-year-old’s edgy style.

“I have loved MAC Cosmetics since I was a little kid. I remember saving up to buy my very first MAC lipstick [Snob] at 14, and it was used by about 20 of my friends!” she said in a recent interview with The Cut.

She added: “MAC has a very clear aesthetic, that has always felt fashion forward to me. So I was really excited to work with them on these products, which I use pretty much every day and night. I hope you will too.”

Since breaking into the music scene last year with her smash hit “Royals,” the New Zealand-born teenager has gained a cult following for her raspy, indie-pop vocals as well as her inimitable look – which often includes dark shades of lipstick and black-dipped nails.

Previously, the songstress was decked out in MAC cosmetics for her appearance at the 2014 Grammy Awards (including the aptly named purple Heroine lipstick). She took home two Grammys that evening for Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Lorde, whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor, follows in the footsteps of fellow singers Rihanna and Lady Gaga, both of whom have collaborated with the Canadian cosmetics giant in the past.
