Jessica Alba’s Honest Company valued at $1 billion

Two years after she founded her start-up, Jessica Alba’s The Honest Company is worth almost $1 billion.

The eco-friendly brand, which the actress co-founded with her pal Christopher Gavigan in 2012, sells natural, non-toxic cleaning supplies and baby products through a subscription service, delivering items directly to parents’ doors.

Concerned that her children were being exposed to harmful chemicals, the busy mother of two told Hello! that she launched the family brand as a wholesome alternative for likeminded moms.

“At the end of the day, we’re still using the same products as our parents used," Jessica said, "and I felt like that didn’t speak to me as a modern, young parent."

Not only are the products safe and non-toxic, but The Honest Company also boasts a socially responsible message, maximizing sustainable materials and making a donation to a family in need for every purchase.

After raising more than $70 million from various investor groups, the star is ready to take her corporation public and has plans to expand to China soon.
