With her jet-setting around the globe, it’s not always easy for someone as busy as Kim Kardashian to stay on top of her diet and exercise, but the brunette beauty always finds time to stay in shape. Chasing after her one-year-old daughter, North West), must not hurt, but Kim and husband Kanye West have found a system that works for them – and the 34-year-old reveals that it starts with making time to work out first thing in the morning.
“My workouts are usually about an hour, maybe an hour and 15 minutes total, but I like to mix them up,” she told Harpers Bazaar US. “Running takes me about 35 minutes on the trails, and then I’ll come back and work my abs or legs.”
As well as a regular fitness regime, Kim revealed she tries to stick to a healthy diet – a factor which no doubt contributes to her flawless complexion. She admitted that Kanye has had a big influence on her clean eating habits, and that the pair change their diets ‘every 10 days’.
“I’ll usually have scrambled eggs or oatmeal, or a protein shake with fruit,” she said, describing her breakfast. “Kanye loves to eat really healthy and is always on different diets. He has a chef who comes in the morning and cooks breakfast for both of us and gets our meal plans together for the day. We just started seeing a nutritionist who changes our diet every 10 days.”
Despite constantly taking on new projects and heading to some of the showbiz industry’s glitziest parties, the Keeping up with the Kardashians star is renowned for always looking fresh-faced. She revealed that she tries to keep her energy levels up in natural ways and tries to avoid things like caffeine.
“I’m not really a coffee drinker,” she admitted. “I like it, and I’ll have some when I’m really jet-lagged, maybe once a month. I try to drink water. I think after you have a baby you want everything to be as pure as possible. I want to set an example and to be natural and healthy. It’s a decision Kanye and I made, to see a nutritionist together.”
That’s not to say that Kim doesn’t occasionally indulge, as the fashion icon admitted that she has one weakness when it comes to dieting. "Haagen-Dazs is my biggest indulgence," she said. "Their Dulce de Leche flavour is my favourite thing in life."
