Chrissy Teigen's most recent photo shoot for Sports Illustrated has an incredible back-story: the model revealed that she was undergoing IVF treatment in between shots. Never one to hide her struggles with fertility, the excited mom-to-be openly shared her unusual experience.
Chrissy described the difficult circumstances at the launch of SI's 2016 Swimsuit edition on Wednesday (Feb. 17). "I was doing IVF during the shoot," she told People Babies. "I was getting my shots and everything in Zanzibar, I had a little medical kit."
Because the fertility treatment involves getting needles, the 30-year-old Lip Sync Battle host went on to say that makeup artists had to cover up the resulting bruises. "It was hard because you bloat from it, and you bruise – if I hit the wrong area."

Chrissy has been incredibly candid about her and John's longtime issues with infertility. When announcing her pregnancy, she thanked everyone for their support. "As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We’re so excited that it’s finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching!"
