17 beauty products you need to master late-summer trends

BELIEVABLE BRONZE
Paint-by-numbers bronzer that looks stripey and orange is so passé! This summer, focus on texture
and application for an overall glow that's not too shiny a la supermodel Karlie Kloss.
“I’m really loving bronzer that’s a bit more shimmery,”
says Veronica Chu, Toronto-based makeup artist and CoverGirl spokesperson, though don't overdo it lest you look shiny. Use finely milled powder with subtle flecks of shimmer on the high points of the face (nose, cheeks and forehead).
The right brush can help you ace application. “A bronzer brush should have a flat surface, as it helps to buff and blend,” says Dannica Lamoureux, national
educator with Make Up for Ever. “Densely-packed bristles will give you control so you can strategically place bronzer.” And if you bronze your face, don’t forget to add the same glow to your neck and décolletage.

SMOULDERING EYES
Shades of blue (think Jessica Alba's cat eye) and green (hello, Olivia Wilde!) dominated eye makeup on spring and summer runways and the red carpet.
To avoid makeup meltdown, apply an eyeshadow
primer. “In a pinch, I use a full-cover concealer,” adds Dannica.
Apply shadow with a dome-shaped shadow brush for better control and blending. If liner is more your style, Dannica recommends creating an ombré effect. “I use
three different shades of blue pencil in a horizontal line across the top lash line,” she says. Apply a light blue at the inner corner, cobalt in the middle and a darker blue or navy toward the outer corner of the eye to get that gradient effect

JUICY LIPS
There’s nothing sexier than bright lips and sunglasses for summer - just look at Demi Lovato and Jennifer Lopez!
“I love a sheer coral, as it looks so great with a tan or glow,” says Dannica. If you prefer to shun the sun, try a bright fuchsia, mauve or tomato-red to add colour that
pops. “I love to layer the colour. First, use a waterproof pencil all over the lips, and then apply gloss on top for the
most impact,” adds the pro. “This helps to give gloss staying-power and it adds dimension to the colour.”
