Jennifer Lopez turned heads with a sleek and chic twisted bun

This ballerina bun with a twist makes a great alternative to a simple chignon – add a spritz of shine spray for the ultimate high-gloss finish.

Step one: Create a tight ponytail at the top of the head, using a brush to smooth down any flyaways, and secure with a hair elastic.

Step two: Take two sections and start twisting them together into a braid. Spritz with hairspray to smooth down any loose strands.

Step three: Take the braid and twist it around the elastic, working in loops until all of your hair is swept back. Secure with hair pins and strong hold spray.

Kendall Jenner upped the beauty stakes with her edgy top knot

Kendall caused a stir at the AMAs with her edgy dishevelled bun and choppy fringe – this look works best on slightly messy hair to give it the effortlessly cool vibe.

Step one: Roughly blowdry hair and use a volumising spray to stop your hair from going flat.

Step two: Use a small amount of texturising cream or wax – work it through your hair using your fingers to give your locks a beach-wave feel.

Step three: Pull your hair into a high ponytail and twist into a tight bun – don't worry if there are a few flyaways as this look works better when slightly dishevelled.

Step four: For Kendall's effortlessly chic fringe, add a bit of texture spray and run through your fringe, smoothing it down for a sleek finish.
