Salma Hayek has shared the touching reason behind her eight-year-old daughter Valentina's decision to grow out her hair. Salma took to Instagram to unveil the news, posting a sweet photo of Valentina getting ready for the festive season at a Christmas event, showing off her already impressively long, wavy brunette tresses.

"My daughter valentina is growing her beautiful mane so she can cut it and donate it to make a wig for children with cancer," the Wild Wild West actress wrote in the caption. "Now that is the spirit of Christmas."

When it comes to hair and beauty, Salma has previously confessed that Valentina is "actually talented" and sometimes even does her A-list mother's make-up.

"Valentina is so good with make-up," the From Dusk Till Dawn star told E! Online. "So, so good that I have an assistant that sometimes asks her to do her make-up before she goes out.

Salma revealed her daughter sometimes does her make-up

"She's done my make-up, and she's really, really good! I have the opportunity to work with great make-up artists and she's watching them like a hawk. She's actually talented with it."

Salma, who is married to French businessman François-Henri Pinault, also revealed that her daughter had set up a manicure stand at their house so she could offer a spot of pampering to any visitors.

"She's developed a stand outside of her room where you can get manicures and she charges you," she said. "It's permanently there so anybody that comes to the house to visit or for a fitting she asks, 'Do you want a manicure?' She's actually quite good!"
