The brunette beauty looked as radiant as ever in the close-up snap, which saw her adding heaps of volume at the roots of her fringe for a striking finish to her blow-dry hairstyle. "New goal: The Ariel bang. Coolest look on the… What's the word? Oh "street."," she wrote across the image, referencing the film's iconic song Part of Your World.

Allison was clearly in a playful mood, continuing the joke in the caption accompanying the snap. "Still trying to offload those 20 thingamambobs… get at me if you're interested. Love, Crazy Eyed-Ariel," she wrote.

The American actress, who plays Marnie Michaels in Lena Dunham's hit HBO show Girls, is no stranger to embracing the world of fairytale in her acting career. In 2014 she took on the role of Peter Pan, in NBC's live musical version of J.M. Barrie's classic play about a young boy who can fly and never grows up.

At the time, Allison admitted that she was ready to undergo a drastic makeover for the role and cut her hair into a pixie cut, but that the producers of the show told her that they would give her a wig instead.

"I sort of very tentatively offered to cut my hair, I was like, 'You know, if it's a thing that would help I could cut my hair,'," she explained during an appearance on The Today Show. "And they were like, 'You're welcome to do that, we're still gonna put you in a wig.'"
