Ryan Reynolds got himself into "huge trouble" with wife Blake Lively this week after revealing the gender of their second child during an appearance on Conan. The 40-year-old star began by telling his host that he had only come on the show because he had wanted to get out of the house, admitting that having "two kids under two is tough!".

Ryan then confirmed on air that he is, in fact, a father to two little girls. "Yeah, a lot of oestrogen," he said.

Ryan Reynolds has revealed that he and wife Blake Lively are parents to two little girls

Ryan and Blake, 29, welcomed their second child together in September – they are yet to reveal her name. The new arrival joins big sister James, who will be two in December.

A short time after Ryan let the news slip, wife Blake revealed that he had tried to make amends in the sweetest way possible.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "The ways I know that @vancityreynolds got himself into huge trouble on @teamcoco tonight: Not only did he come home with my true love, @levain_bakery cookies, but he personally toasted them for me and brought me a cup of milk WITH ICE. Literal brownie points."

Blake later revealed that Ryan had made it up to her with a chocolate cookie

It was revealed in April that the private couple were expecting a second child, with Blake debuting her baby bump at the Cannes Film Festival in May. They have made no secret of their desire to have a large family.

"I'm one of five kids. My husband is one of four, so we're officially breeders," Blake joked during an appearance on the Today show in June.

Similarly, Ryan told Details magazine earlier this year, "We'd love to have a big family. We both come from big families – my parents did four, Blake's did five." He added, "A lot of people say it's crazy, but we'll only know when we're there, you know?"
