Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger go glam for ‘Chinese Oscars’

Newlyweds Avril Lavigne and Chad Kroeger made a dashing pair as they walked the red carpet together at the Huading Awards in Macau on Monday.

The 29-year-old songstress chose a Brian Rennie for Basler peplum gown for China’s biggest awards show, which featured optical-illusion black side panels that showed off her curvy figure.

With her wavy blond hair dramatically parted to one side, the pop-punk singer complemented the glamorous look with winged eyeliner and a nude lip.

Nickelback frontman Chad colour-coordinated with his beautiful wife in a black tuxedo, crisp white shirt and black tie.

Avril, who won Best Global Singer at the colloquially named ‘Chinese Oscars,’ later changed outfits and posed backstage in a short-sleeved black dress -- complete with studded belt and fishnet stockings.

"I love all of my fans in Asia," she said as she accepted her award. "You guys have been so good to me over here."

She added: "I look forward to you guys hearing my new music from my record next month, thank you very much, Xièxiè" (the Mandarin word for "thank you").

The Canadian power couple — who were wed in a romantic ceremony this past summer — are fans of coordinating their red carpet looks, most notably at the 2013 Much Music Video Awards, where they arrived together wearing all-black, rocker-inspired ensembles.

Avril Lavigne’s upcoming album is slated for release on Nov 5.
